ReFEEHS Introductory Symposium (Belgrade, October 24, 2015)
ReFEEHS Introductory Symposium was held at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade on October 24th, 2015. It was dedicated to defining the core professional competences and exploring the relationship with educational outcomes as a foundation for the improved, competency-based health science curricula. The Symposium was organized jointly with the 1st South East Europe Quality in Pharmacy Summit. The meeting was attended by more than 120 participants representing academia, including a number of students, professional chambers and professional associations from more than 10 countries of the region, as well as representatives of the European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy (EAFP), European Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS), European Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (EPSA), Pharmaceutical Group of the European Union (PGEU) and Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE). Following introductory presentations from renowned experts in the field, participants engaged in a lively small group discussions in the World Café setting. It has been recognized that we are facing similar challenges, and that there is an emerging need for transnational cooperation, exchange of information, experience and best practices.

World Café discussions
Competencies development in line with the expansion of patient care services, regulation and expanded scope of practice for pharmacists. Development of experiential pharmacy curriculum (traineeship). How to design and deliver the relevant study program? Roles and responsibilities of university. Roles and responsibilities of placement sites and teacher practitioners. Students’ expectations. Is there a need for regional cooperation? Teaching competence development of university staff and teacher practitioner: Is there a need for formal study program?
